Addendum is added to the train dilemma of 07/08/26. (If you didn’t read this dilemma or have forgotten your response, please return to 07/08/26 before reading further). You now know that the person or one of the people you allowed to be squashed was an exceptionally talented air traffic controller. Two weeks later, an overworked and less experienced controller was working when an airliner carrying 240 passengers didn’t survive a mid-air collision. This would have been avoided had the previous train victim been working his shift. Does this additional insight change your original decision?
